Nancy Ella
Frye-Swope
Arlington, OR
Nancy Ella Frye-Swope, of Arlington, Oregon passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2026 at the age of 75. She was born November 22, 1951 to Claude and Lorraine Frye in Greely, Colorado.
Nancy grew up in Southern California and then lived in England for several years with her first husband, who was in the Air Force. After his death she raised her three children as a single mother and moved to Arizona. While living in Arizona she pursued her dream of going to college, graduating with a degree in English and Creative writing in 1993.
While living in Arizona Nancy met Marshall and fell in love. In 2004 they were married with everyone wearing their "leathers". Together Nancy and Marshall pursued their love of building and riding motorcycles, especially their "Choppers". This was obvious to anyone who visited their home when they saw the two motorcycles parked in their living room.
Nancy's varied careers included working as a dental assistant, and as a legal assistant for several attorneys. Due to health issues she retired from her management position as head of Builders Services for Chicago Title Insurance Company in Arizona.
In 2014 Nancy and Marshall moved back to Marshall's home town, Arlington, Oregon. They bought a "fixer-upper" house and together they spent the last twelve years remodeling their home…several recent projects are still in the process of being completed.
One of Nancy's favorite hobbies was working with Marshall on a novel. They have spent many years researching, writing and editing a Historical Fiction novel about WW2 Veterans and an outlaw biker club. They continued to work on this novel as Nancy's health allowed and were getting close to having the book ready for publication. Unfortunately Nancy passed away before they were able to complete and publish the book. Another favorite hobby of hers was genealogy and family history research. She spent many hours tracing her family's history and ancestors and often shared interesting stories and information she found.
Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Marshall Swope, her sisters, Peggy (aka Jeanne) Liebhaber (Carl) and Claudia Twiss (Charlie), her children, Lara Anderson, Daniel Anderson and Rob Anderson, her step-sons, Tom Swope and Steven Swope, her nieces Tori Kimbal (Brett), Jenna Dye (Ben Taylor), as well as other nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Lorraine Frye, her sister, Dorothy Garry, and her first husband, Daniel Anderson (father of her 3 children).
For many years Nancy struggled with multiple health issues yet she continued to pursue her hobbies and love of motorcycle riding with her husband and her faithful companion, Jerry Lee "The Dog". Their current motorcycle is a "Tryke" that they have rebuilt and customized "just the way they wanted it". The three of them were able to enjoy a few great rides on their tryke.
Nancy will be missed by many. No services are planned at the present time. Please make any donations in memory of Nancy to: Wounded Warrior Project, www.Wounded Warrior Project or by phone: 855-448-3997
