Kathleen Marie Turner passed away on February 14, 2026, at Oregon Health and Science University in Portland. She was 76.

Kathleen was born on November 10, 1949 in Crosby, Minnesota to Elmer and Violet Meligan. In 1954, the family moved to Portland, where she grew up and graduated from Girls Polytechnical Institute High School.

Kathleen worked in the business world for several years and managed ladieswear clothing outlets in Oklahoma and in Texas.

After moving to Heppner, OR in 2005, Kathleen resided at the St. Patrick’s Senior Center Apartments until her passing. She assisted with the management there for a period of time.

In 2007, Kathleen was honored to received the Heppner Chamber of Commerce’s Woman of the Year award.

Kathleen was the proud parent of one child, a son, Corey Farmer of Portland, OR.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one sister.

She is survived by her son and her two brothers; Gerald Meligan of The Dalles, OR, and Jack Melligan of Heppner, OR.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at 2 PM at the St. Patrick’s Senior Center. All are welcome to attend.
