John Samuel Goldsmith

John Goldsmith of Fossil, Oregon age 84 passed on December 3, 2025. John was born on May 13, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York to Devorah Sloat Goldsmith and Hymen Goldsmith.

John is survived by his wife Cathy Goldsmith, daughters Gaylyn Batte and Keri Lee Bianco, two adult grandchildren, a sister, four cousins, two nieces and a nephew.

John and Cathy were married in the Baptist Church in Fossil, Oregon on March 27th, 1988. They made their home in Fossil, Oregon for 38 years. John was a painter by trade and an artist by heart. He had a great presence, making new friends wherever he went.

A memorial service in John’s honor will be held in late March of 2026. Date, time, and place will be provided later.
