Francine Bristow Hisler was born in Heppner, Oregon, on October 16, 1931, to Paul Sr. and Kathleen Hisler. She was the second of three siblings, with an older sister, Joan Sumner, and a younger brother, Paul Hisler Jr. Raised on a ranch, Francine developed a lifelong affection for horses. In 1947, she served on the Heppner rodeo court, and in 1950, she was honored as a princess on the Pendleton Round-Up court. Francine attended Heppner High School, where she met Tom Bristow from Ione, Oregon. The couple married on October 14, 1951, and shared 74 years together.

Tom and Francine relocated to Portland, where Francine dedicated many years to working at a child day care center. She enjoyed sports and was an enthusiastic Trail Blazers fan. In 2005, they moved to Rockaway Beach, Oregon, spending many fulfilling years in the community. Francine was known for her strong faith and loved every visit and gathering with family and wonderful friends.

Francine is survived by husband, Tom; one daughter, Katrina Flynn (and husband Don), and two sons, Kevin Bristow and Shawn Bristow (and wife Judie), along with six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

On September 18, 2021, Francine suffered a stroke and moved to Nehalem Care Center in Wheeler, Oregon, where she received exceptional care. Her husband, Tommy, visited nearly every day to offer comfort and companionship. Francine passed away peacefully in her room at the care center on January 12, 2026, at the age of 94.

A graveside service will take place in the Ione Cemetery on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at 3:30 PM. Afterwards, a gathering of family and friends will be held at the Heppner Elks Lodge #358. Everyone is invited to share in some food and fellowship.
