Carolyn Mae (Kelsay) Britt, 93 of Pendleton, OR passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025. She was born April 1, 1931 to Glenn and Laurel (Baxter) Kelsay in Service Creek, Oregon. She attended a one room school house from grades 1-5. Then the family moved to Spray, OR where her parents both worked at the post office. She graduated from Spray High School in 1948. She married Elvin Leland Britt in Goldendale, Washington on her 18th birthday on April 1st, 1949.
Carolyn started playing the piano at an early age for various activities at her school and church. She became a member of the Pilot Rock Assembly of God Church where she served roles of Secretary and Treasurer. She also played the piano for the church for many years.
She held various jobs throughout her working life. Carolyn worked as a bookkeeper for Spray County road department, a city recorder for Spray, and the Round Butte Potato Company in Culver, OR. She then went back to bookkeeping and worked for Britt Bros. Trucking and W.B. Ranches from 1964 to 1998. When Britt Bros. Trucking sold, she decided it was time to retire.
Carolyn is survived by sons; Roger (Rita) Britt of Heppner, OR, Melvin (Anna) Britt of Emmett, ID, Sean (Kristi) Britt of Boise, ID; sister Georgia Kelsay of Madras, OR; 6 grandchildren, 1 step granddaughter, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Britt; parents Glenn and Laurel; daughter, Sheryl Sue; grandson, Kyle; and brothers Bobby and Billy Kelsay.
A private family burial was held at the Heppner Masonic Cemetery in Heppner, OR. A celebration of life service will be held later and dates and times will be announced.
