Candace Lynn Dowdy was born on August 17, 1962 in Mountain View, California and passed away in Hermiston, Oregon at the age of 62, after losing a short four month battle with esophageal cancer. She was so stoic and fought so hard, but lost her battle at 5:05 am on November 22, 2024. Candee grew up in San Jose, California before moving to Oregon in October, 2000. She moved to Texas and lived there with her mother from 2012 until moving back to Oregon in 2021. She was previously married and has two sons from that marriage. Her parents, Dan and Marjorie (Margi) Grigsby, predeceased her in 2011 and 2021. Candee is survived by her two sons, Dallas Dowdy (37) of Heppner, Oregon and Brandon Dowdy (35) of Salem, Oregon, her sister Robyn Caldwell (59) and niece Kristen Gathright (33) both of Texas, and her Uncle Patrick Tiffany of Poulsbo, Washington, as well as several cousins. Candee sure loved her family and she especially loved her cat, Luna. She was the biggest cat person and anyone who knew her well knew that. She was the kindest, sweetest soul and had such a big heart. She would do anything for anyone, yet would not be one to ever ask for help herself. She went out of her way to buy gifts, even if small, for her family even though she didn't really have the financial means to do so. Candee truly touched the hearts anyone who had the privilege to know her, or call her family or friend. She will be forever loved and missed by all. Fly high sweet angel.
